Many thanks to the various organisations who have chosen to support the congress this year. The event wouldn’t be possible without you. If you’re interested in supporting our event, please visit our Information for Partners page.
British Sugar, who have a large plant in the town, are proud to partner with over 3400 farmers who grow sugar beet for our factories. We turn their crop into sugar, used in the leading brands of international food, drink and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
We employ over 900 permanent staff and play an important role in the economic life of the communities in which we operate.
The Bury Area Chess League (BACL) has overall responsibility for this congress and makes an annual donation to help ensure its success.
The league, which has three divisions and runs a number of additional competitions, currently includes six clubs from the West Suffolk and East Cambridgeshire regions, making Bury St Edmunds the approximate geographic centre. The six clubs are Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge City, Ely, Linton, Stowmarket and Sudbury.
